I’m new to Minimates, jumped onboard with your Alien line.
I see that you did Terminator once too. Many of those Minimates are hard to come by now. (Especially in the UK.) Is it beyond the realms of possibility for a re-release?
Also, ever considered a Matrix line? Or too old hat now? Imagine! All those cast members! Sentinels! APUs! Real world/Matrix variants. A Burly Brawl set with dozens of Smiths vs Neo!
Dreaming aren’t I?
I am sorry about the secondary prices for the Terminator line, but right now we have no plans to go back and make more of those. However, we have for sure talked about the Matrix, so you never know.
Hi Chuck! Any chance we might ever see some Tomb of Dracula Minimates? I know we’ve seen Blade in a few forms, and the more modern version of Drac, but we’ve never had a proper 70s/Gene Colan style Lord of the Undead and we really do need one! (and supporting characters like Deacon Frost, Hannibal King, Frank Drake, Lilith, etc. would be fun, too!) Switching gears a bit (but sticking to the theme of 1970s vampires) it would be awesome to see Minimates for the classic horror soap, Dark Shadows! Keep up the good work!
We’ve talked about more horror sets each year around Halloween each year, so it’s very possible. I don’t think we have ever discussed Dark Shadows, though.
Is there any chance we’ll see any new TMNT Minimates based on new characters of the series like, Shinigami?
Right now our next few releases will be the classic animation, after that we’ll have to see.
Hi Chuck! Firstly, I have to applaud your Aliens line. When I saw the depth and breadth of characters you are producing you converted me to Minimates. I now own every one you’ve produced, as well as many of the equally impressive Predator series. And now I’ve got the bug I’m wanting all my favorite franchises in Minimate form!
My questions are:
For the Aliens line, what are the chances we might get a Queen Hive set? It would be the ultimate! Has it been considered? Also, Dropships. A Sulaco?! And the last remaining cast members. I keenly await anything Alien you produce!
And for Star Trek, chances of Abrams line? Into Darkness is my favorite, and I’ve noticed a lack of in scale Enterprise and USS Vengeance models. I’d love both MM and/or regular larger scale versions. To recreate that epic head to head confrontation scene!
(Other dreams (for MM or any) include Bioshock, Dead Space, Legacy Tomb Raider, Left 4 Dead, C&C Red Alert 2 (so many vehicles!), Starship Troopers, Tremors, Call of Duty (Modern Warfare), more Mass Effect (Normandy ship), … everything!)
Luke, glad you like the Alien and Predator lines. I think we’d like to do more deluxe sets and vehicles, we’ll just have to see how the ones we have done sell. We do not have the rights to the new Star Trek movies, unfortunately, and we are not looking at any of the other properties you are hoping for, but never say never.
Hi, I’m a big fan of your Minimates figures. I have several questions. First, I among many others loved the Godzilla line and was saddened that it wasn’t continuing. With the new Toho movie and coming sequel to the legendary film is there any chance we’ll see the line come back? Not only for those films but for other Godzilla movies like Tokyo S.O.S., Godzilla Against Mecha Godzilla, the 98 Zilla, Final Wars???
New Question: the Minimates vehicle line has had some great entries– is there a chance for a Guardians of the Galaxy Milano or Ecto-1?
Keep these awesome figures coming!
Damon, right now the rights to Godzilla are a little complicated, but you never know what the future holds! It was amazing to even be able to work on that line. We cannot do vehicles for Marvel, but you never know about Ghostbusters – we’d love to do an Ecto-1 for sure!
Hello! Big fan of your products, especially the Muppets line of both the action figures and the Minimates. I know there’s talk of more possible action figures but is there any chance of getting any more Muppet Minimates? Some characters feel missing from the line like Sam the Eagle, Rizzo the Rat, Lew Zealand & his boomerang fish, and even the two pink Snowths to go with the already released Mahna Mahna Minimate. Hopefully there’s a chance you could squeeze out a few more even if they are exclusives? Thanks for reading, and keep up the great work!
Right now, the Muppets Minimates line is on hold. We do have more ideas and if the product out there moves and retail responds, we’re ready to go back into production.
Hi, I am a huge Minimate Fan. Started with GB and BTTF series and hit Marvel pretty hard. Wife is into Nightmare and is only missing 1 blind bag mate! I would love (and buy the !#*& out of) a Phantasm series. You could do a box set or two from each of the 5 movies. Plenty of great characters and variants PLUS Minimate Hemicudas! Thanks for all you guys do.
Brian , it’s great to hear you are a fan of the line. Sorry, right now we are not looking at Phantasm, but never say never.
Ok, I got one for ya… what about better effects/props/diorama pieces for Minimates? Have you ever thought through doing some web effects for Spidey or some blast effects for Iron Man? Maybe some extra things for Thor? Some extra creative things….
Also, is there any way we can package new Spidey mates without coiling up the web? Is there a way to keep it straight?
I’m sure you’ve never been asked these questions… :)
We’ve done some accessory packs in the past but they have not been character-specific. I think just an accessory pack for, say, Marvel could be an issue for licensing. Over the last few years, we’ve added more accessories to the figures then in the past.
Have you guys ever considered making something like “maximates?” or different scales/sizes of Minimates? That would make it easier to make larger characters like the Hulk or Rhino.
For most of our licenses, we are not allowed to make anything bigger than 2″, but even when the license does allow it, we like MM in one size with no scale. In the past, we did do some larger Marvel MM-styled resin for characters like Galactus, but they were not too well-received. Never know in the future, though.
