Questions like “Why is DST so awesome?” and “What’s up with Black Hole, Marvel, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, DC Comics, Star Wars, Kingdom Hearts, Avatar the Last Airbender, and other lines?” DSTChuck has the answers for you, and if you’ve still got a question afterwards, you can submit it in the drop-down menu up top, or e-mail DSTChuck!

Since a Lord of the Rings line was announced, there’s any chance of we get figures based on The Hobbit in the future?

DSTChuck: Yes, there is a chance. It will all depend on how well the line that we have already in the works performs. The six movies would allow for as many series as fans would support.

Martin H.
Did the Black hole line do well enough to do more figures in line like a sentry robot?

DSTChuck: We are still gauging the success of the line, but it is off to a good start and we are hopeful.

Ethan D.
Hey! Was wondering if there were any plans to make figures for the old Trek movies like Motion Picture or even some reissues

DSTChuck: At this time we do not have any new figures planned for those movies.

1) What are the chances you guys will revisit the Marvel GotG Vol. 2 PVC Gallery line and include Yondu, Nebula, & Mantis?
2) I have over 20 of the MCU PVC Gallery statues so I’m wondering if I’ll be able to add Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Winter Soldier, & Vision soon?

DSTChuck:
1) At this time I think we are done with products from GotG movies, but never say never.
2) I do think it is likely we will do products based on the Disney + shows, they sound very cool. When we know more about the content, we will be able to figure out exactly which products we want to do.

Will there be any new trek tek phasers or communicators coming out? Im hoping for a search for spock communicator to go with your phaser, and also the tricorder that would be awesome.

DSTChuck: I am sorry, but none of those are planned at this time , but never say never.

Ryan I.
During your Q&A with Rebel Scum and Chris Wyman, you mentioned that items could be considered if there is enough demand, how do you gauge demand for products?

DSTChuck: There are many factors involved, including close collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd., which allows us to have their valuable insight into fan interest and the success others may be having. We meet weekly with our sales staff and discuss future plans with them, and we get the feedback they gather from the buyers. We also meet one-on-one with all of our major buyers, several times per year. We attend several consumer trade shows per year. We look at fan e-mails and online discussion. We also have years of sales data we can review. It’s not an exact science and it is impossible to make every fan’s every favorite exactly as they want them, but we feel we have a pretty good track record of line planning. Going forward on a statue or action figure is a very expensive decision, so we have to be as confident as we can that there is sufficient interest.

David E.
Will we see any new Star Trek product release or update from you in 2020?

DSTChuck: We hope so, but with the current world situation our plans are very much in flux.

Raymond V.
Since we already have 4 waves of Avatar figure, any confirmed status for a scaled Appa Figure?

DSTChuck: It is not in the plans right now, but it has definitly been discussed.

Brodie R.
After seeing your Aang PVC diorama, can we expect more ATLA PVC dioramas? Myself and a lot of other people would love to see a diorama of Zuko, Iroh and Katara. Will we also get anything from The Legend of Korra?

DSTChuck: We do have more Avatar Gallery pieces in development!

Damon W.
Hello guys, I was wondering if you guys were still planning on releasing/producing the Thor Model Kit that you previewed a a couple of years ago with the Deadpool Model Kit. Is it sill in the works? Are there other characters planned for the model kit line?

DSTChuck: We did have several more planned, however we lost our hobby distributor and have been struggling to find the correct new one. We did have some good meetings at Toy Fair, but at this time I am not sure what will come of that. We are hopeful.

Theresa G.
My plan for comic con 2020 preview night was to run to your booth and purchase the diamond select Diamond exclusive with real diamonds. Comic con just got cancelled. How will I get my 2020 diamond exclusive?

DSTChuck: To be honest, we are not 100% sure. Some might go online , some might go to a future show and some have had their production stopped. These are unprecedented times and we’re just trying to take it one day at a time.

Johnny H.
What ever happened to the packs of figures of army men like Ghostbusters vs Ghosts? I’ve looked everywhere for them.

DSTChuck: The sale of those were handling by Diamond Comics and I am not sure which retailers they were sold to, so I can’t be sure. Maybe try CSLS and see if any stores near you might have some in stock. We do not offer that line on our website.

Dan P.
Hi Chuck, was curious if there are anymore plans for the Kingdom Hearts line beyond Guardian/Valor Toy Story Sora. Thanks.

DSTChuck: There are none planned at this time, but we are watching to see how well what we have been released sells and what demand might be for more.

Joe S.
Hello, I am curious if you are planning on making villains part of your retro marvel figure collection like the green goblin for instance.

DSTChuck: At this time the Marvel retro cloth line is on hiatus , but we are open to maybe having some future releases. If we did Goblin would certainly be a consideration.

Jason Y.
1) I know you mentioned it depends on sales but has there been thoughts of adding more CW show characters to the Gallery line? Perhaps from the well received Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover this year. Big fan of Brandon Routh’s Superman.
2) Is DST interested in making Gallery statues based on previous DC movies such as Superman Returns, Batman Forever, Batman&Robin? Will it be based on how well the Batman and Batman Returns PVC statue performs?

DSTChuck:
1) We have discussed maybe doing something from the Crisis crossover!
2) Our rights are somewhat limited on the older movies, but if we are allowed at any point in the future for sure we would be interested in many of them.

Christopher A.
Like your marvel action figures, they have always complimented the Hasbro marvel legends figures. Your typical dc comics figures are tv show related. Is there a reason why you don’t do comic accurate dc comics action figures? Is this something you can do in the future?

DSTChuck: We do not have the license to produce action figures from the DC Comics lines. Those rights are held by other companies.

Gabriel C.
Is Diamond Select considering releasing new X men Marvel Select action figures anytime soon ? Thank you

DSTChuck: I think we feel like we hit the X-Men pretty good for the Select line recently. Right now, we’re mixing it up a little. For sure we are going to keep looking at X-Men as the line goes on.
